NME double page spread analysis

NME Double Page Spread

There is an equal amount of text as there is image. This means that they are both given equal importance to one another. This makes the reader focus on both of the features of the page. The image has focus as it is able to immediately pull in the audiences attention to the article. The image is emphasised as it takes up a whole page over the double page spread.

The image on the page is just one large image rather than many smaller images as it is able to get the readers attention more fully, it also helps to make us focus on to this article over the other articles within a magazine. The contents of the article is based around a band called Beady Eye whilst the image shows an image of Liam Gallagher who is the main member of the band beady eye. This shows the image relates to the contents of the article. The article also gives a lot of Liam's view points and thoughts on certain topics so by the image only showing his head in frame then it can help people to see him thinking and to wonder what his thoughts are. A close up has been used to focus on the mans face. By using this shot it covers a lot of the background meaning there is very little of the background that can be seen. The focus of the image is also mostly upon his facial expressions which are very limited which gives a perception that rock music is emotionless. The person in the image is wearing casual clothing which shows his identity and shows how this genre of music is very calm and hassle free. The clothing he is wearing is very current to what a lot of people are wearing newer days so many people will be able to relate to him. The colours used are very bright and consists of pinks, blues and yellows. The use of  yellows links the double page spread with the cover of the magazine which also uses a lot of yellow colouring. The use of a mixture of colours helps make the magazine article standout and easily visible.

The language used is very modern as the language used is very milar to the ways in which we speak 'one things for certain...' this makes it easier for the target audience to understand and follow the whole of the article as it keeps them interestedin the story. The writing used is very casual an uses a lot of swearing which is used through speech which has been written in the article. this helps to recreate the casual mood which has been set throughout the magazine. Thelanguage is ery much informal.

The genre of the magazine has been showed through the informal language which has been usedthroughout the double page spread which acompanies the image of a rock band member to create a positive representation of rock music industry.
